SUBMISHMASHIN'

I’ve been Submishmashin’ these past few months, submitting my flash fiction here and there, at PANK, Smokelong Quarterly, Bull Men’s Fiction, >kill author, Hobart and few other online literary journals. Also, since they’re the Trailer Park Quarterly and haven’t associated themselves with Submishmash I sent them two flashes as email attachments.

Thank you Julie Buffaloe-Yoder  for the heads-up regarding TPQ and for your words of encouragement. After communicating with the Trailer Park Management, they’ve accepted my flash fiction piece titled “From the Blue Sky”—a piece I had read in slightly different form at the Lawrence Street Gallery back in November.

Also, thank you Rebecca Schumejda, Trailer Park Manager, for the pre-approval; acceptance into the trailer park is truly an honor. I can’t wait to see the next issue.

Hey JR, are you indulging in potatoes smashed into submishmashion?

No I'm not, Jodi. I'm just tryin' to show support for our dear Lions. Restore the roar!

Congrats on the acceptance. I don't know if you noticed but your lion is on its' back.
Hard to restore the roar when it is on its' back. Huck

I can't get nothin' past Huck. How else should I wear it? Inside out?

Congratulations, JR! I'm so happy you sent them something. Nobody ever listens to me...haha. But I'm glad you did.

Rebecca Schumejda is an awesome poet and very cool person. TPQ rocks, and your work is a perfect fit. I can't wait to see it there. Congrats again!

Julie, I couldn't help but move into the trailer park with neighbors such as yourself. And yes, Rebecca is much more than my "trailer park manager" reference ... not that there's anything wrong with trailer parks ... people need a place to live.

Cool. Trailer parks now, tomorrow the Dojo Park, next -- Seven Years in Tibet!

And damned if the Lions didn't trip up the Packers . . .
